What should I do if I am unable to accompany my child or teenager to his/her appointment?

Minors will not be seen without the consent of a parent unless a life-threatening illness/injury is occurring. We would prefer that a note be written authorizing treatment for your child. When a parent/guardian is not present, it is often more difficult to get an accurate history and to explain the options for treatment. We encourage you, as the parent, to be present whenever possible.
